Title: The Practice and Issues of Credit Rating in Mainland China

Speaker: Guo, Nan (China Credit Rating Company)

Abstract:

In this talk, I will talk about the current bond market and rating activities in Mainland China, including bond market segmentation and development, rating practices on corporate bond, government bond and asset backed securities. Also, I will address issues that arise during rating, including lack of default data accompanied by more and more credit events, quick change of market sentiment, and the relation between rating and pricing.

Biography:

Guo, Nan is the general manager of Modeling Department of China Credit Rating Company. He once work as a senior consultant in Enterprise Risk Service of Deloitte in Beijing, and as an analyst in Moody's Analytics Shenzhen. His research interests focus on credit risk modeling and bond pricing. He is currently a part-time PhD student in Financial Mathematics in Peking University. He received M.S. in Statistics and Financial Mathematics from HKUST and B.S. in Mathematics and B.S. in Sociology from Peking University.
