Date: 4:30pm-5:30pm, October 4 (Tuesday), 2016
Title: Systemic risk and edge revolution
Speaker: Prof. Xiaoguang Yang, Chinese Academy of Sciences
Abstract:
In this presentation, we will first talk about the consequences of the systemic risk. Then we give some comments about the current definitions and measurements of systemic risk. In the following, we present a new definition about systemic risk, explain the logical basis of the new definition. We further discuss the characteristics of the key risk factors in systemic risk, give a mathematical formulation to describe the evolution of systemic risk, and give a mathematical measurement for the system risk. We compare the systemic risk with the edge revolution, exhibit their the similarities and differences, and shed some light on how we understand the systemic risk from the historical perspective.
The presentation will be conducted in Putonghua.
